Naturally sustainable and environmentally low-impact, alpacas are seriously magical animals! Producing alpaca fiber requires less energy and resources, plus it’s warmer, stronger, lighter, and softer than similar fibers like cashmere and merino. When cared for correctly, this 3-ply yarn won’t shrink or pill quite as easily as wool. Read more about the sustainability of alpaca, here.
I hand-dye each batch the old-world way, one pot at a time over a stove. I’ve chosen earth-friendly, low-impact acid dye pigments that meet organic standards and are formulated without hazardous metals or chrome. Learn more about my yarn dyeing process here…
Alternate skeins when knitting if you prefer a more blended fabric.
