1 Ply Organic Felted Fluff! – Sylph

Test Yarn Super Sale! After doing some test batches I’ve decided not to carry this yarn because it felts very easily. However! This 1-ply fine Peruvian merino, though a wee bit velcro-y in the skein after dyeing (as in, the fiber wants to cling to itself) is still super soft and wonderfully fluffy. It’s the perfect yarn for felting projects (felted colorwork mittens anyone?), weaving projects, or for plying together with another handspun fiber to make a gorgeous art yarn!

Weight: Fingering
Fiber Content: 100% Fine Organic Merino
Yardage: 437 yards (200m)
Wand Size: 1 – 3 US Needle, or E4 Hook (3.5 mm)
Care: Gently hand-wash in tepid water (will felt very easily!)
Color Description: Sylph — a semi-solid, classic sweet mint green. Note: This batch has small spots of a rusty tone on some skeins where the dye molecules “split” and turned redder (see last two photos).

I hand-dye each batch the old-world way, one pot at a time over a stove. I’ve chosen earth-friendly, low-impact acid dye pigments that meet organic standards and are formulated without hazardous metals or chrome. Learn more about my yarn dyeing process here…

Alternate skeins when knitting if you prefer a more blended fabric.
