In 2011 I was in need of a new wallet since the one I was carrying at the time was on its last legs. Rather than go out and buy one I decided to dig through my fabric stash and try to make one. It took me a few prototypes to get it right but what I eventually landed on was a really simple bi-fold wallet design with two pockets and a button tab closure. I’m not exaggerating when I say I’ve been carrying some version of a Pixie Wallet, every day, since that first one six years ago.
Pixie is perfect for minimalists who want something small to fit in their pocket and carry with them when a whole purse isn’t the most practical option. It holds everything you need and nothing you don’t. It’s easy to customize and perfect for using up small fabric scraps in your stash!
In 2012 I debuted ready-made Pixie Wallets at a few craft fairs and in Spring 2016 started working on a pattern for sewers so they could make their own. I released that first pattern under the name Rochelle New Handcrafted and have recently updated my name to better reflect my vision and plans for the future. Today I’ve re-released Pixie under Home Row Fiber Co. with several small changes.
I added metric measurements and little pattern notes to help make Pixie an easy project, even for beginners. There are a great many cosmetic changes and some minute technical fixes that I overlooked in the instructions the first time. If you purchased a copy of the pattern previously, you will receive the new updated version from me soon!
For those who are seeing Pixie for the first time, you can find it here in the shop (for just $6.00!) along will all a materials list and other information you make have questions about.
I hope you love the new Pixie pattern!
